Age Verification Policy

Kafkana (the "Service") is an AI companion service restricted to adults aged 18 and above. Browsing, registration, and use by anyone under 18 years of age is strictly prohibited.

Because the Service contains adult content (AI-generated fictional depictions intended for adult audiences), access is permitted only to persons who have reached the age of majority as defined by the laws of their jurisdiction.

We employ a multi-layered approach to verify user age:

1. Age Gate on First Visit: Upon visiting the site, users must confirm through an "Are you 18 or older?" modal. Users who answer "No" are automatically redirected to an external site.
2. Consent at Sign-Up: Immediately above the log-in and sign-up buttons, the account screen states: "By logging in or signing up, you confirm you are 18 or older and agree to the Terms of Service and Privacy Policy." Completing registration constitutes that confirmation and consent.
3. Database Record: The timestamp and version of the Terms / Privacy Policy accepted are recorded in our database for each user. This provides an auditable record for future compliance review.
4. Payment-time Verification: When using paid features, our payment processor (SUI PAYMENT) also performs identity and card verification.

If a user provides false age information to access, register, or use the Service, we will take the following actions:

• Immediate suspension and deletion of the account
• Blacklisting of registered identifiers (email, OAuth linkage, etc.) to prevent re-registration
• Reversal of payments and preservation of related transaction data where applicable
• Reporting to law enforcement authorities in cases of serious violations (e.g., identity fraud to impersonate an adult)

False age declaration may subject the user to claims for damages.

If you believe or suspect that a minor (under 18) is using or attempting to use the Service, please contact us immediately.

Upon receiving such a report, we will promptly:

• Suspend the account in question
• Delete the account and associated data
• Investigate the user's activity history and take additional measures as appropriate

We strongly recommend that parents and guardians utilize parental control features on devices and browsers to manage their children's internet usage.

We maintain an absolute zero-tolerance policy regarding Child Sexual Abuse Material (CSAM).

Content generated by the Service depicts only fictional adult virtual characters produced by AI. We prevent the generation and distribution of CSAM through the following measures:

• All pre-made characters are explicitly configured as adults (18+).
• Our Terms of Service define the generation or request of content depicting or suggesting minors as an absolute prohibition.
• Upon detection of a violation, we immediately suspend the account, remove the content, and report to law enforcement where necessary.
• To report inappropriate content, please email info@appligon.com with the subject line "[REPORT]".

Where appropriate, we cooperate with international CSAM prevention networks including the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) and the Internet Watch Foundation (IWF).

We regularly review our age verification mechanisms and this Policy, strengthening them in response to evolving technical and legal requirements. When significant changes are made, the Last Updated date on this page will be updated, and users may be notified where appropriate.
