My card payment is declined
Last updated: July 23, 2026
If your payment doesn't go through even with correct card details, your card issuer (the bank that issued your card) may be declining it. A payment can pass identity verification (3-D Secure) and still be declined at the authorization stage.
Common causes
- Treated as an international transaction: Kafkana payments are processed through an overseas payment network, so some issuers restrict them for security reasons
- Several attempts in a short time: Repeated failures can lead your issuer to suspect fraud and keep declining subsequent attempts
- Insufficient credit limit or balance
- Your card doesn't support international merchants
What to try
1. Use a different credit card (most reliable) A card you've previously used for international purchases works best.
2. Contact your card issuer Call the support number on the back of your card and mention that a payment to an overseas merchant is being declined. They can often lift the restriction.
3. Wait a little before trying again Repeated attempts in a short window can tighten the restriction further.
If none of the above helps, contact us via the support form and we'll look into the status of your payment.
